Gordon Wilson – 3

When Elder Udall was my senior in Málaga, we finally got a baptism scheduled shortly after my arrival. The mission had bought blow-up fonts with external heating units. We met on the upper floor of an office building for church meetings. So, Elder Udall and I, with great effort, carried the font up the stairs and filled it with the heated water which took several hours. This was late August and it was probably 90+ degrees and near 100% humidity in Málaga. I can still remember the moisture condensation running down the walls and windows of the chapel. Just as the font was filled near the top, it collapsed and warm water ran onto the floor, out the door, and down the several flights of stairs! And to top it off: our baptismal candidate didn’t even show!
